    Nice list! I just finished Gone Girl yesterday and was quite impressed. The Devotion of Suspect X was pretty good as well. I went through a Lee Smith phase years ago, and I think I read Fair and Tender Ladies then, but alas all those books are in a pre-blogging black hole and I can hardly remembers then. I ought to pick up something of hers again one of these days.

    Teresa, have you read Flynn’s other books? I enjoyed them just as much as Gone Girl. I have a few other Lee Smith books to read this year, and I have several books that were pre-blogging that I am interested to revisit. My tastes continue to change since I started the blog, so I want to see how they fare now.

    Love reading what books other bloggers liked in 2012. Gives me great ideas for 2013. And my reading year was pretty grim, as well. I didn’t get anywhere near my unwritten goal of at least a book a week. Well, as Scarlett O’Hara would say, “Tomorrow is another day.”

    Gone Girl is the only one of her books that I’ve read. I’ve looked at Sharp Objects several times but never ended up reading it. I’d like to try them know though.

    Grad, I just bought myself a whole batch of books based on bloggers’ 2012 favorites, so I know what you mean. As far as the reading goals go, invoking the words of Scarlet O’Hara works perfectly!

    Teresa, I just re-read most of Sharp Objects. She does a great job of gripping attention and not letting go.

    Gone Girl and Half Time Walk didn’t do it for me, but I loved all the others on this list that I’ve read – especially People Who Eat Darkness, Stone’s Fall and Suspect X. I hope you manage to discover some equally great books in 2013 :-)
